The Vegetable Garden Pause-ith

My gorgie husband shoveled a full cubic yard of organic dirt into my new vegetable garden. Bella immediately dug a giant hole in the middle. Until we can get it finished and start planting, we figured we'd solve this issue by tying string around the garden.. because, oddly enough, Bella is afraid of string.

What we didn't factor into the plan... is CLEARLY - Sam is not at all afraid of string. In fact, I'm pretty sure she didn't even know there was string there.

Sam & Bella 1; us - goose egg.
ps- don't mind my giant finger in the photo.. it was early.

  2. hi,
ahhh, that looks like some nice soil, i would dig a hole and lay in it too. i also noticed that you are surrounded by rock, that is not only a good water saver but can also make for a good filtration system, water leaves but good soil stays. i used some kind of "pea gravel" and it was murderous work since i have three 12x4 foot rectangles 3 feet high. winter means lots of leaves, beets, cauliflower, broccoli, onions and garlic. (make the boys eat their greens to clean out all that texas bbq).

one way to keep the dog out and keep david busy is to have him build a fence around your box to grow snap peas in the winter and cucumbers in the summer. are you going to compost? i like worms check out worms eat my garbage. get the book but not the box, david will be dying to build it...or just dying.....
    viva la revolucion,
    kj
