Wednesday's Wine - on Friday...

That title makes my head hurt...
Cloudy Bay used to make my head hurt... but I think it relates more the amount we drank of this particular when I was off playing with the girls.
My fondest CB memory is when Tish & I brought a picnic to Torrey Pines Park - hiked along the trail & found a spot to sit & drink wine while watching dolphins swim & jump about. Being from Ireland, this was Tish's first time seeing dolphins outside of a park. It was as much fun watching them as watching her reaction... at least until the park ranger found us drinking & had no sense of humor, and frankly, no sense of a good wine.
Tonight, my husband & I were being far more civilized while drinking Cloudy Bay... as long as you exclude the spirited language & pillows being thrown at the tv during the veep debate!

  1. yellow,
some down time to check your site, you frustrated photog you. i like the stylized pics.
    and now to opine....
sav-blancs are generally a slam dunk, (a copious grape processes easily). NZ's CB SB is a a dynamite value but hard to bounce from back after one or too two many.
la crema has long been a go to staple for mid week imbibing or a respectable offering for guests who deserve sumpin good but wouldn't appreciate the sacred bourgogne blancs. beware! last month we supped a bottle of la crema 06 that wasn't up to snuff, we were dismayed.
currently a "frogs leap" chard is in the fridge (to pair with chicken/broccoli/brown rice this monday?). finished up a di'arie syrah today. i opened it on wed. and it wasn't all nectar until the following saturday when it went magically with a salmon lunch and a dinner's dry age ribeye.
for sundays we are approaching 5 years of going to the same mexican restaurant, wine isn't an option i stick to the martinis....
    see you in cyberspace,
    big bro
